The International Hindi Association was founded in 1980 with a simple but powerful vision: to preserve, promote, and propagate the Hindi language and culture among the Indian diaspora in North America. What began as a small gathering of Hindi enthusiasts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee has grown into a pan-North American organization with 13 chapters spanning the United States, India, and Canada.
Over 45 years, IHA has organized 49 annual national conventions, published hundreds of issues of Vishwa magazine and Samvaad newsletter, conducted thousands of Hindi language classes, and created a vibrant network of Hindi-speaking families who pass their linguistic and cultural heritage to the next generation.
As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2030, IHA stands stronger than ever — embracing digital platforms, AI-powered language learning, and a growing global membership committed to ensuring Hindi thrives for the next 45 years and beyond.
