Jagriti — Hindi Literature Webinar Series
Jagriti is IHA's monthly Hindi-literature webinar series. Launched in the Amrit Mahotsav of Indian independence (2021-22), it brings together scholars, linguists, writers and publishers to discuss Hindi literature and inspire new writers.
International Hindi Association — United States
Founded in 1980, the International Hindi Association (IHA) is a global Hindi institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Hindi language and literature. The Samiti's first kavi-sammelan, in 1980, was presided over by Honorable Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and since then many dignitaries from India and abroad — including Shri Shatrughna Sinha, Shri Vinod Khanna, Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi and the poet Neeraj — have honoured Samiti's events with their presence. Over the last 41 years, IHA's efforts have centred on Hindi education, the quarterly literary magazine Vishwa, and kavi-sammelans.
To mark the Amrit Mahotsav of Indian independence (2021–2022), IHA launched a new initiative — Jagriti. Jagriti is focused on Hindi literature; its purpose is to explore the vast canon of Hindi literature through talks and discussions led by world-renowned Hindi scholars, and to inspire new writers to create in Hindi. The initiative brings together university professors, linguists, writers, publishers and other stakeholders.
The Samiti has launched a monthly webinar series of scholarly lectures and conversations as part of Jagriti. The webinars are streamed live on Facebook and (where possible) on YouTube, and are aired on the second Saturday of every month at 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time.
