Hindi is special — it has different words for your father's side vs. your mother's side of the family. English uses "grandfather" for both, but Hindi has two separate words!

फूफा	phoofaa	Bua's husband	Paternal uncle (by marriage)

Key difference: दादा/दादी = father's parents. नाना/नानी = mother's parents. This distinction is unique to Hindi and reflects the deep respect for family structure!
