Indiana Chapter

In an effort to promote Hindi and expand the reach of the International Hindi Association, Dr. Rakesh Kumar accepted the leadership to launch the Indiana Chapter in January 2021. Our objective is to promote Hindi literature, education, and culture; engage those who value Hindi language and literature; and collectively explore ideas and activities that help preserve and promote Indian culture abroad through language and literature. One of our major goals is to encourage younger generations to learn about India’s culture through its literature and beliefs.

Indiana is a Midwestern U.S. state whose capital and largest city is Indianapolis. Approximately 50,000 Asian Indians live in Indiana, including about 20,000 in Greater Indianapolis. The Indiana Chapter is working to reach more people through its Facebook page, chapter website, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp. Information about Hindi classes, Hindi Diwas celebrations, Kavi Sammelan, and other programs is posted and updated regularly. Through links with community groups, chapter information has reached more than 2,000 Indiana families, and many students are attending online Hindi classes.
